In yesterdays post is a photo of a .38spl S&W.
It is a 5 screw, 4", hand ejector, no model number. Serial # 601851
I got it from my grandfather 50+ years ago.
It will become part of my wedding present to my granddaughter next month.
A few interesting stories behind this pistol but I don't know how old it is, and I'm NOT going to pay Smith $75.00 to find out.
Maybe one you have a book or something.
If it was a Colt, I'd just ask Old NFO...heh.
The Colt database -
ReplyDeletehttps://www.colt.com/serial-lookup
gives three dates for your pistola.
1919
MODEL-1911 MILITARY
1936
Model-OFFICIAL POLICE MODEL
1951
Model-POLICE POSITIVE SPECIAL & DETECTIVE SPECIAL
OK, I screwed up, thought this was a colt instead of a S&W, my mistake.
